New WA State Rep - Nigel

Postby Rodders » 01 Mar 2009, 23:41

As most of you are aware, my priorities have changed a bit this year since I became a Dad for the first time. Having fulfilled the role of WA State Rep since the club began a couple of years ago, I feel that now is the right time to pass the baton over to someone else.

I have nominated Nigel to take over the position of WA State Rep. Having seen his amazing recruitment activities in action, I am sure that he will be perfect for the role.

I am proposing that Nigel takes over from Sunday, 8 March onwards. I hope all WA members you OK with the change. Please PM me this week if you have any concerns.

I will still of course be around on the forum and at meets, as its not like you can just 'give up' The Arsenal!

Sorry to see you give up your position as state rep Steve, but Nigel is an excellent choice and I'm sure will do a fab job. Looking forward to the next meet, whenever that may be....

Hi Gang,
Many thanks to all for your words of encouragement. The dust has now settled on the WA rep handover, with all the info, contacts and advice needed to push the ball a little further readily passed on between Steve and myself. I'd really like to extend a huge vote of thanks to Steve for getting the Perth branch up and running. Mainly due to his efforts, we have a hard core of Perth gunners that turn up to live games. After a successful end of year Glory game recruitment drive and curry night, we are slowly and surely building a eager local following for our great team. Many thanks Steve, your hard work has been much appreciated, we will look forward to seeing you at the meets and initiating your little gooner into the ways of the Arsenal.
Daylight saving will soon be over here and will start in UK, which means that from early April, live games will soon kick off two hours earlier. For us that means more games at the Shag, more beer and more cheer......especially as we are picking up towards the end of this season, and most games are mini cup finals. I will soon liaise with Andy at the Shag, and try to firm up some dates for future games. We should be able to get at least a fortnights notice of a meet. Stay posted........keep posting..........and keep dragging closet gooners along to meets. We have a great product, one of the best football teams in the world, the only reason we aren't a huge supporters club here in Perth is that most gooners here don't know we exist. Please get the word out there to an elite clientelle, the Arsenal fan, and lets build our support base up............and hopefully within the next few years the Shag will need to extend the bar area to get us all in...........and now for a win tonight.....my thoughts

I'm sure Steve made a wise choice having seen your incredible recruitment skills and all. :D
