I won't be there tonight Steven, I'll be watching at home. These days I just let people know when and where the game is on, hopefully there will be a good turnout, if you go along please let me know how it went. We don't actually have an official location for any Arsenal Club meets in Perth anymore.
We used to all meet at "The Lucky Shag" on the Swan River in Perth for all live Sat night games. It was great !! The owner was a Gooner and he had a late license and was happy for us to watch the games, and put it on the big screen. On big game nights we'd get thirty supporters. Because of the time difference, the live games could be on anywhere from 9pm to 3am, and most bars aren't open then. As for currently watching live games at the Shag, unfortunately it had a $2 million makeover and has new trendy "wine bar" clientelle, and we aren't included in the new vision.......... they won't put on the football with sound. As it is now at the moment there isn't a pub in Perth that has a late licence that is willing to exclusively show live Arsenal games. The Burswood Carbon Bar at the 24 hr casino shows some games but unless there is a definate Arsenal game on their schedule on the big screen with sound, and I can get at least ten supporters to turn up then its Foxtel / Sky at home. Therefore Perth is now primarily a web based group. Usually they come out of the woodwork for the big games at the Carbon Bar.......watch the forum for updates. If there is a push to re-vitalise the supporters here in Perth and we can actually get supporters to turn up to watch games please let me know. The whole sorry tale is in the Perth section of the Forum on the website under "Attention all Perth Gooners!"
