Lets all laugh at tottenham

Postby samv » 02 Jul 2007, 11:19

Following on from goonerphil's comment on the other thread its funny to listen to spurs fans who think they are gona finish above us. The thing that strikes me the most is that for spurs the last two seasons have been seen as a success. They didnt win a trophy and only managed to qualify for the uefa cup. This is an achievement on par with powerhouse clubs such as bolton, everton and blackburn. For arsenal fans it has been two seasons of disappointment relatively speaking. Yet we still managed to qualify for the champions league final and the kids made the league cup final dispatching spurs in the process. Also we extended the gap from 1 to 8 points ahead of
them.

Tottenham=pathetic, whining, losers who cant hold a 2 nil lead.

The spuds celebrations last season when they managed to grab a two all draw at WHL really summed up the level of mediocracy to which the aspire.

On another topic, lets all laugh a the spuds who think they got a good deal by paying 16.5m for Bent, whilst although being two years younger, isn't as good as Defoe who is likely to be out of the club as a result of the Bent signing!

The kids have beat the spuds!

Of the games I saw at the Emirates before coming to Australia this was the best

Despite the claims that we're a weaker side than last season. I think we'll be much stronger, hopefully with Cesc scoring regularly from midfield, and Rosicky scoring from 3 meters, not just from 30 meters.

I can't see the spuds finishing ahead of us.

Let's remember that Spurs had a slow start to the season last year also. Despite all the cash that they've spent, they haven't strengthen the team in any real way. Buying an unnecessary striker, and a promising, but not yet developed left back, has made some people think they've actually got a decent side. Show's how deluted some people are, when they only look at the cash, not the first XI.

I agree, they won't get into the Champion's League.

I read today that West Brom is asking 15m for Curtis Davies. I'm surprised Spurs don't offer 20m as they have in the past with overpriced English players!

The spuds are only goal difference above the relegation zone. How sweet is that!!!

What a game against Spurs!!! Looks like Jol will be out the door soon and Spurs were lucky that other results went their way, and they're still just outside the relegation zone.

Melbourne boys go off!!

Postby tony » 16 Sep 2007, 14:00

Did we do those boys over or what?!! What a great night, still basking in the glory. To see those Spuds fans troop out with their tails between their legs after we outplayed and out sung them is a memory I will cherish at least until Part 2 of The Showndown later in the season. Hard to believe it could be topped though. 1-nil down coming back to thrash them 3-1 at the Lane. Pretty dam special. Great to see a good turnout with a number of guys introducing themselves and new guys coming over for a chat. Let's kick on from here. "We are top of the league, say we are top of the league!!!!"

Let's hope we pick up some new members from last night. Will be great to get a huge group for Arsenal matches.

What a win a what a sight seeing those spud scum bastards leaving their s**t hole of a ground when Adebayor fired in the injury time cracker. Best win of the season just after an international week, when Arsenal seem to be most vulnerable. CMON ARSENAL!!!!!!!!

How many are we going to thrash Derby by this weekend? It's a chance to beat our previous best of 7-0. Especially as the Spuds could only win 4-0 against them.

Well, considering they beat the Toons 1-0, at least 8-0 should be possible!

I'd be happy with any win. Don't forget last season we struggled against the lower sides. However, this season we look much different so I think if Arsenal get an early goal then the flood gates will open, but even a one goal win would suit me. Expect to see a start from Eduardo and possibly an appearance from Bendtner.

Wenger may choose to start with Adebeyor and Eduardo and bring on Bendtner as a sub if we're winning. It should give some of our players a bit of a rest.

Derby are a different quality to West Ham and Sheffield Utd. Plus we're playing them in Autumn on a decent pitch rather than a bog in Winter.

Spurs Commemorative Plate

Postby Richard » 05 Oct 2007, 18:54

Spurs have commissioned a commemorative plate celebrating the glorious "Night of the One Point" that will go down in history as a night of outstanding achievement for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

On a night in front of past legends, it was the legends of ‘07 who stepped up to the plate to obtain the unimaginable prize of a home draw with mighty Aston Villa. Not since the days of black and white TV has the team achieved so highly, gathering 6 points from a possible 24. The joyous crowd were celebrating long into the night. And what is more, despite still being in the relegation zone, the club were no longer joint bottom.

"These young warrior s can be an inspiration to a generation, and we hope that the young fans, who for so long have not had much to cheer about will tell their children and their children’s' children about how they saw the "Night of the One Point” and the draw at home to Villa" said a Spurs spokesperson who asked not to be identified.

Spurs’ "Night of One Point" plates will be on sale for GBP 149.99 after the next home game. Crafted from medium grade PVC and packed in cardboard, some will be signed by the players who can write, so reserve yours now.

Top England striker Jermaine Defoe welcomed the initiative, saying "definitely, I thought I was awesome, ‘innit. I didn't score again or play for very long, but that is not what the game is about. It is about getting a point. We celebrated wildly when we equalised against Arsenal when they won the league at our ground again, because that was obviously all about us, not them. I think this draw with Villa is up there with that. Definitely. I’ll definitely buy one a plate. Definitely”.

Butch manager Martin Jol growled – “This is what this club is all about – falling behind and trying to catch up. I am happy with our progress under me and will take one point whenever I can”

The Spurs board have declined to comment
