I thorougly disagree, hes real class, and has shown us what he can do. He's a brilliant finisher when hes not injured and is one of the best free kick takers (when he hits it good). He's the last striker id want to sell

We've got some good young kids, but there's no way we should sell one of the best players we've got.

RVP has been ruled out of Holland's WCQ.

Doesn't seem to serious though.

He should be from the sound of it.

As long as it's not an injury that hangs round.

As long as he doesn't get injured, that's all that we need.

If he's not fit he could be short of match fitness or not 100% for our game.

I stand by this, he can only score on one foot, his right

with no left foot he should be out, plus he scored all our goals so he'll be worth lots

Its actually funny I didn't realise how often I post a smart arse comment, then forget to check the reactions and just come accross it like months later when people are replying to what I say. I should pay more attention

sorry Arjun, Bossey

RVP copped a knock to the head for the Dutch:

Good news, as long as it's not too bad.

I saw the article stating that he missed training, but I didn't see why, I assumed it was because of the knock to the head.

Who knows what's wrong. Its been reported he has either a knock to the head, a hamstring injury or a groin injury.

I am more concerned by comments attributed to Van Persie that he has made an ultimate he wants to see proof of Arsenal's ambition before re-signing. This is such a crap attitude. It's a team sport and if RVP has ambition he should set an example to his younger team mates and lift his game and start performing more consistently at the high level we know he is capable of, its not as if he is carrying the team or that we are relying soley on him. A club's ambition should not be based on how much they are willing to spend on transfers, if that is what RVP is alluding too. I think our young squad has shown their potential and their ambition, consistent high performances from maturing players will take the team to the next level.

I don't believe anything the media says re: players ambition, movements etc etc

when it happens then I'll make judgement, until then I take it all with a grain of salt and put it in the "trashy journalism" basket

RVP FTW

I understand where he's coming from. Players only have a few years to win major honours.

The fact that he's saying that he'll stay if the club is competing for honours is fine with me, I'd prefer that to Cashley's performance.

Van da Man is made of glass and one day he may shatter and be worth nothing so if he doesnt resign now we should try and get a nice pay out for him soon  :P
The fact that RVP wants proof of Arsenal's ambition before re-signing can be seen as a bit arrogant and disrespectful towards his team mates. This is a poor excuse for not resigning and if this is TRUE then we should cash in on him now coz he is not the sole player holding this team up coz i think the Eduardo and Adebayor pairing upfront is our best option :P

But if all this is just bolony then I LOVE U RVP

He hasn't even said that he won't resign because of this he is contracted until 2011 so whats the rush to resign.... he will work it out probably after next season.... A. if the club want to keep him and B. does he want to stay until then he is an Arsenal player end of story.... why do people believe anything they read by the Brittish media they twist everything aroud about anything.... Cesc will say he is going back to spain to see his grandma and all of a sudden he is there to sign for Barca.... the media are 100% full of s**t... believe nothing unless you hear it come straight out of the players mouth....

The issue with contracts is that with the new buy out rules, a player with less than 2 years can but out his contract.

It's also the issue that when players get to one year left on their contract, their value drops a lot.

im with rvp on this one. if the Arsenal cant match his ambition make the necessary signings in the forthcomin off season, he is in within his rights to leave...no one wants to play for a team that has eternal potential but no trophies...

i like rvp but if that's his attitude (if the press are to be believed) then fukkim. what makes him think a bigger club than us would be interested in him considering how fragile he is? The club has stuck by him even though he can't string together more than a handful of matches before spending another lenghthy spell on the treatment table. If he showed more consistency/resilience, maybe we would start winning things and the "ambitions of the club" would be something he has a say in.

thats a good point! its probs best if rvp did hav a quiet think to himself of wat Arsenal has done for him, n how we stuck with him thru the worst of times espec with those bloody relentless injuries, its time for him to show some loyalty. i really dont see him goin tho. he'd be a big loss...

Both sides have to give a bit. The club has to understand that players only have a short timespan to win trophies, but players have to realise what the clubs put into them.

I think it's mostly media speculation and don't doubt that RVP will resign. I think it's a non-issue.
