They're professionals and should be better than that. I don't think that's an issue, I think it's more so the amount of games and the fatigue.

I disagree, 23 year olds cope fine. It's the teenagers who are more at risk of fatigue.

That's because they aren't skillful enough or experianced enough.

Most of the players are able to play for most of the season, I don't know about serious injuries though. It's more so fatiuge that will be a problem.

It's a bit longer than expected, but he has had shoulder problems in the past, so not completely unexpected.

Surprised after your comments on the Rosicky post you're not asking for him to go without his wages and be traded immediately!

No hate train... sorry to cross threads... just that injuries are as much part of the game as goals.

Its a statistics thing (like insurance), you don't know which player is going to get injured in any season, but you can bet your house a couple serious injuries will occur.

Once a player is injured, their trade value drops so there's no point getting rid of them. Same token, its about public perception too - good for the club to show support for its team (public perception is also an important factor in signing new players).

Lastly, my view theres a general benefit in not turning over players too much. It takes some consistency and time to build chemistry between players on and off field. Its not a computer game where they just slip in and out of teams. The injured player can sometimes still play a role off field, and when they come back, they already know the coach's systems and the style of the premier league.

Finally Lastly, we know how much of a painful process Wenger goes through before signing any player. I'd hate to see one of our excellent players go, because he simply won't be as easily replaced as you would wish.

Sorry again to cross threads... you can go back to Walcott again... I just hope Walcott picks up where he left off when he comes back because it definitely looked like he stepped up a gear before the injury...

yeah well look sorry for being a C*** latley mate..just taking things to personally...against other gooners..i shuld be a c*** to spuds..and yeah i admitted i was hard on rossy..

and your right...letting him go wouldnt be easy to replace..as we cant be sure wenger will buy in jan..and when rossy and eddy come back..like ive said in other threads it will be like new players anyway..and give much needed confidence boost

on theo..im just shi**y that his progress is being haulted by this silly injury..i mean its all good and well for the f.a to give us money..but who knows how many of these draws/losses we have had of late may have been a different result had theo been playing..im not saying he makes all the difference..but we cant change the past/present/or future..i just think a team who can limit there injuries in the course of a season...can win the league..for example man u last yr...and with there injuries it looks like liverpool may not be as good as they looked at season's start!..never the less they are still on top of the league!

This is even more of a joke:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... 00000.html

Theo is staying, why would he go anywhere else. He'll get the money he deserves and comes across as a fairly down to earth kid who isn't going to hold the club to ransom, but may hold out for a bit more money.

He'd be welcome at a number of other clubs, but I can't see him leaving for another club.

He's not going anywhere, it's crazy that he'd leave for that or Arsenal would allow him to move clubs for so little.

He'll get a new contract shortly, it's just media crap. They write about anything they can at this time of year.

You can't seriously have thought that things were going to be easy to see in January. The rumours go crazy when the window is open.

Very few transfers go through early in the window and they are usually transfers that have been negotiated before the window opens. Things won't clear up until later in the month.

yeah i know at months end things would seem much clearer..i just thought with the credit crunch that they couldnt write such bollocks! hoping things would look more realistic..but that hasn't happned...also this time 2007 i didnt care as much abt the window and who we got..as i was working 24/7 and was lucky to have the spare time to watch games as it was...didnt have time for internet until end of 07 so doing research and things just wasnt an option!

C'mon Jake.

They still need to sell papers regardless of the credit crunch. There have been crazy rumours since before the PL was created and there was little money in the game, so the credit crunch isn't going to stop them talking crap.

is it true what the arsenal website says that theos shoulder injur could affect his career, or is this just rumours being squashed?

I haven't heard that from Arsenal.com.

It's just the typical rumours that occur when a player suffers the same injury as he's suffered earlier.

Theo needs to strengthen his shoulder, but I don't think it'll significantly effect his career.

pffft

Theo will stay, its all just media crap. There is not even a single thread of evidence to suggest anything they're saying.

They just do the sums and calculate stuff to cause trouble, talk to the agent who gets a cut from every new contract, hence he's apart of the mischief making.

It worries me slightly but honestly Arsenal is the best place for him.

Its actually weird that in the last couple of months I missed so much on the forum, I was super busy with work and didn't see half the stuff that was written (mostly from Jake and Richard lol)
There's only 1 Arsene Wenger

Theo could be back for the Roma match:

http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archiv ... roma-clash

It sounds like the surgery on his shoulder could fix the hereditary problem that he's had.

It would be great to have him back, having that player to run at defenders is one of the things we are missing especially when Arsh can't play cl,me personally think it's been a media beat up and he'll sign on soon :D
