Re: Kolo Toure
He's been atop player over the years thanks for the servce but 15 mill is a huge amount of money for a player well past his best if it wasn't man c we would only get 5mill imo if le boss makes a few good signings this is a great outcome .

Re: Kolo Toure
well a 250,000 investment has yeilded a reported 16 mil back. still i would prefer that he didn't leave, this gets me riled up. one of my favorite defenders he was. great transfer business but Wenger MUST move to replace him, especially if Eboue leaves as well. good business, timing???

Re: Kolo Toure
It's sad to see him go, but ultimately, Toure wanted to leave.
Otherwise, I don't think Wenger would've let him leave.
As long as Wenger replaces Toure, gets a new DM and has a good hard look at the squad, I'll be happy.

Re: Kolo Toure
It could've been a possiblity, but I think City wanted to hold on to him.
We might've been able to get more than 5m also, considering Villa were rumored to be preparing a 8-9m bid for him a couple of months ago.

Re: Kolo Toure
Im gutted KT is gone, he epitimised Arsenal with his spirit and tenacity, i always thought he could have been a midfielder, the times hes weaved and shimmied his way into the box and has always had an eye for goal, his urgency and never-say-die spirit. You will be missed KingKolo. BUT Vermulaen loks like a worthy and able replacement(i hope)-maybe he will even get on with Willie. If Eboue goes we need a back-up RB, do we have one coming through?

Re: Kolo Toure
The only positive about Kolo going (other than the cash) is that both his and Gallas' contracts expire at the end of this season. I wouldn't want both of our CDs to leave at the same time.
Come to think of it, Silvestre's contract is also up at the end of the season, and I'm not sure, but Senderos' contract may expire then also. Not the best idea to have the entire CD leaving at once.

Re: Kolo Toure
Still think its a good move providing he gets replaced,Kolo was a good player but was found wanting against the better teams, put it this way if we had a last line of Sol,Adams,Keown etc he wouldn't even come close to getting a game he was a very good servant in a very weak defence thats all he was.

Re: Kolo Toure
Why did he have to go and shoot his mouth off... he had many good years at Arsenal won plenty of trophies then he goes and shoots his mouth off in the press after he leaves... I am starting to think that the Toure & Ade clique was the destructive presence in the shed that people were referring to.... Good work Wenger get rid of the "BIG HEADS"
