We're already got Eduardo and Rosicky out already, so it's already started.

Nasri is not 100% either and I doubt will start against Twente.

I think Eboue will start, however, we've got Vela who can play on the left if need be, and we've also got Wilshire and Ramsey.

How is it hurting us if we're not playing.

Wait until the season starts before commenting on whether it's hurting us.

We need a new DM, and a winger would be nice, but not essential, but it's not like it's a crisis.

We were a lot worse several times last year and weve added attacking player, which we lacked last year.

We've added Ramsey and Nasri and lost Hleb.

Wilshire has also stepped up and Vela has come back.

Flamini hasn't really been replaced, but Hleb has and we've added Ramsey and Vela.

denilson, diaby, song, bischoff, coquelin > flamini, gilberto

nasri > hleb

as well as ramsey and vela.

personally think we are stronger than last season, especially if we can get RVP, Eduardo and Rosicky to stay fit.

Our weakness in my mind is the defence, which ironically is the area we haven't lost anybody.

dunno if all those guys are better than flamini, but Flamini wasn't that great before last year, if Diaby and song get a chance I think they can do the same as flamini

im not sure about diaby at DM but i think song would be great. having said that wenger seems pretty keen on keepin him as a CB but that leaves us with 5 CBs so it doesnt make sense...

I wouldn't be so sure, although Wenger obviously sees potential in Song to develop into a top CB I still think we will see Song given some chances in the DM position. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

I reckon Wenger may buy another DM, so Song will be a reserve in either position.

I don't think he's good enough to be a CD. He's not a good enough header and doesn't have the required size or leap to be so. However, he'll continue to improve, but I reckon he's better at DM.

Diaby is an AM, he's not defensive minded to be a DM. Hopefully he'll be back soon, although Wenger said it's likely to be 4-6 weeks.

I thought Diaby did quiet well in the champions league against Fenerbache.

Could be a good partner for cesc perhaps????

As did well, but we was playing behind Ade.

He's a decent partner, but not as a DM, only if we change formation.

Hopefully he'll get to play through the middle more often. Although I'm not hoping for a Cesc injury.

Diaby is an AM, whilst Denilson is a CM or DM. They're not interchangable unless we change formation.

He's not a good tackler, and gets forward too much.

He's a capable player, but he's a box-to-box player at the best not a DM.

i like diaby not love him ..realistically if ne1 came along in transfer i would be happy to c him in the bench!

im happy with him cos he is all we got from injury this season

altho if u check the espn site apparently eduardo will be back in 3 weeks

wonder how him persie & ade are gona play? persie as cf & ade & edu as striker duo...hmm i dont kno how well that went last season considering i got foxtel about a few weeks after edu got injured

care to xplain this one 4 me richard?

I reckon Eduardo will take a while to get back to full match fitness, and it could take him until the end of the season or next season to get back to 100%.

Remember, it took him 4-5 months to get used to the PL, and I think there will be a similar adjustment time when he returns.

As for who will start when all strikers are fit. I think there will be some matches in which Eduardo will start and some in which RVP will start.

Look at the fact that Wenger has wanted to rest RVP from a number of matches this season.

Ade and Eduardo play well as a combination, but RVP is class, so I think Ade will be a constant in the side, with Eduardo and RVP partnering him at times.

A few comments about Diaby and other issues with the club. It's worth a read, particually for those who think Diaby could be a DM:

i think in time he would be a better cam then a cdm..i just see him with more skill then strength..but on the lead up passes maybe he isnt their yet either!

i think song is still better to play there..altho he is already a defender..but im not saying diaby cant do it..i just think there are afew others who would be better!

The article just said that Wenger thinks he won't be a DM.

I can't see him as anything but an AM, he's got good movement, and a decent pass, but needs to improve his heading and his finishing. One great thing is the thump he gives the ball.

i think if he puts it all together he can be a real good player for us..he just seems so creative and skillful it would be nice to have an cam who could help out cesc on the final ball part of the game!
